1. How will my application be reviewed?
If you download this SAMPLE application you will see exactly how the contractor evaluates your application.

2. What happens after I have gone through the application and payment process?
Our contractor will review your application(s). The estimated turnaround time is two weeks.

They will contact you if your application is incomplete and ask that you resubmit within the time given by our contractor. If you choose not to resubmit your application within X days we will consider your application as a FAIL. If you resubmit your application later than the appropriate time given there will be a fee of $500.

Once the contractor has completed the review of your application. An email notification will be sent to you with the results of your product stating if you have PASSED or FAILED. If you FAILED there will be an explanation followed by the result.

3. If my product PASSED, how do I know which utilities will incentivize my product?
Each DLC QPL Subscriber has access to the Qualified Products List and will make their decision based on their

cost-effectiveness tests. On a project per project basis Manufacturers should work with their local utility on receiving the rebate. Though experience and build up of the list, we will look into making this an easier process for manufacturers and their customers.

4. What is the cost to apply and is Credit Card the only form of payment you accept?
The fee is $500 per application to cover technical review and administrative costs. If you are applying for a ‘product family’ there is no cost. You may pay by invoice but please notify Sue Stocker before hand.

5. How will DLC QPL phase out their product categories when ENERGY STAR decides to take them on?
As standard procedure under ENERGY STAR, they will announce they have finalized the draft of a specific category. Manufacturers will have 270 days to apply for ENERGY STAR. At the same time DLC will announce they will start the phase out of that specific category. After the 270 days have expired DLC will eliminate that category.
