Manufacturer Application ProcessSTEP 1: Check to make sure you qualify - review the technical requirements to see if your product fits in one of the categories that are eligible to qualify for the QPL. STEP 2: Read the Application Instructions - these instructions will guide you through the file uploading process and explain the details of the application form. Make sure you don't miss anything because it may cost you more money in the end. STEP 4: Read the FAQ page -If you still have additional questions please read the FAQ page STEP 5: Set up a Log-in Account - Applicants are allowed to fill out this application in more than one sitting. All your information will be saved. But we highly encourage applicants to complete the application as soon as possible because the application will not be reviewed until it is completed and payment is made. STEP 6: Complete the Application - The QPL application requirements are analagous to those of ENERGY STAR. It has five main parts: application contact, model information, photometric and electrical data, lumen maintenance, and document checklist. Each section needs to be completely filled out and supported by the submission of documents listed IES LM-79 test reports, LM-80 reports, ANSI/UL 1598 -04 reports, and full IES files. See application instructions for all the necessary documents and the requirements in order to maintain the validity of these documents. STEP 7: Make Payment - After you complete the application you may proceed to payment. You may pay by credit card or check. *Credit card is preferable* We accept VISA, MASTERCARD, AMEX and DISCOVER. STEP 8: Feedback will be provided by the contractor via email stating ONE of the following conditions:
STEP 9-A: If an applicant falls under Condition 1 there is no time limit restriction to re-submit online. Applications that failed their first submission (under condition 1) may still have the opportunity to be qualified based on their resubmission. In order to have this opportunity, applicants must make the necessary changes to their current application. To make changes log-in and select the application that needs to be resubmitted. Looking at your current application you will notice the resubmit button on the bottom of the page. Please note: You have one chance to resubmit the application without paying an additional fee. STEP 9-B: If an applicant falls under Condition 2 they will be provided specific instructions on DLC QPL guidelines STEP 10: The contractor will provide the final feedback to the manufacturers about the re-submitted application. If the manufacturers were successful in fixing all the problems and errors that came with the original application they will receive a pass (STEP 8 Condition 2) and move to Step 9-B. Otherwise they will receive a "Fail" notification. Please proceed to the next page
