New DLC Policy: NLC Technical Requirements V3.0 Released
The DLC is pleased to release the final version of Networked Lighting Controls (NLC) Technical Requirements V3.0. These revisions go into effect today, Friday, June 1, 2018.
Version 3.0 of the NLC Application Form is now available on the Application Instructions page for Networked Lighting Controls. This form must be used for any applications submitted after 9:00am ET on June 1, 2018. If you have an incomplete V2.0 Application, please email it to email@example.com with a request to transfer the data to a V3.0 Application so that you do not need to re-enter all of the data manually.
An informational webinar will be held to review the new Technical Requirements on Thursday, June 21st at 2:00pm ET.
NLC Technical Requirements V3.0 includes the following expansions and revisions:
- Accepts DC and PoE networked lighting control systems.
- Includes a phased approach for cybersecurity whereby beginning with V3.0, the DLC will report compliance with a set of standards, including ANSI UL 2900-1 “Cybersecurity of Network-Connectable Products". This phased approach concludes with V5.0 in 2020, whereby cybersecurity will be a required capability.
- Includes a phased approach for energy monitoring that begins with enhanced reporting of the capability with V3.0 in 2018 and requires all systems to have energy monitoring capability with V4.0 in 2019.
- Includes new requirements for documentation of system capabilities.
