Submit a Product
The DLC qualifies commercial LED luminaires, retrofit kits, linear replacement lamps, mogul (E39) screw-base replacement lamps, and four pin-base replacement lamps for CFLs for inclusion on the Solid-State Lighting QPL. Products must be marketed as and intended for one of the available product categories and meet the DLC's Technical Requirements to be eligible for qualification. Please review Product Eligibility, the Technical Requirements, and the Testing and Reporting Requirements for specific product categories to determine whether your product is eligible before submitting an application.
Download the Manufacturer's Guide in English or Mandarin for full details on submitting an application, or refer to the following presentations for an overview of submitting products to the SSL QPL or an overview of common application questions. Please contact applications@designlights.org with any questions about submitting an application to the DLC.

Single Product Applications
For single products or a group of products where the only variations are CCT, dimming capability, certain voltage variations, and/or variations that do not affect product performance.
Single Product Applications
To submit a Single Product Application, your product or product family must fall into one of the two following categories: (1) a single product with one model number submitted for qualification, or (2) a family of models where the ONLY differences among the products are one or more of the following:
- CCT
- Dimming capabilities if the drivers used to achieve different dimming capabilities are the same aside from the dimming capability. (In this instance "the same" means a driver from the same manufacturer in the same product line. For example, Acme driver ABC-123-Fixed vs. Acme driver ABC-123-DIM.)
- Voltage variations if the drivers used to achieve different voltage ranges are the same aside from the voltage capability or if a stepdown transformer is used. (In this instance "the same" means a driver from the same manufacturer in the same product line. For example, Acme driver ABC-123-120V vs. Acme driver ABC-123-480V. If a stepdown transformer is used, the same driver must be used with the stepdown transformer as is present in the model without the stepdown transformer.)
- Variations that do not affect the performance, i.e. housing color. These variations may be represented by placeholders in the model number (XX or **) or brackets.
-
Family Grouping Applications
For groups of products that may include variations beyond CCT or dimming capabilities. All variations of the family must be scalable and relatable.
Family Grouping Applications
To submit a Family Grouping Application, your family group should meet the following definition:
- A family must contain a single LED package/module/array, or standardized set of LED packages/modules/arrays (see Multiple LEDs requirements).
- A family may contain multiple driver variations as well as different LED drive currents achieved by an adjustable driver.
- The overall physical fixture housing and assembly of the products in the family group is both:
- Of identical material, construction, and shape, and differs only in overall physical dimensions for different models within the product grouping. If the family group differs in overall dimension for different models within the group, each dimensional change will be grouped in a Sub-group.
- In all other ways, thermally relatable to other fixtures in the family. That is, products can reliably be identified as to which are operating hotter or cooler.
- The fixture must demonstrate scalability or modularity using identical LED packages/modules/arrays, electronics, optics, heat sinking, and any other applicable features.
- A family may contain variations in fixture mounting systems if mounting systems do not change thermal management characteristics.
If multiple driver variations are included within the family group, please refer to the Family Grouping Testing Requirements for specific instructions.

Private Label Applications
For private labels of products or groups of products that are currently listed on the Qualified Products List.
Private Label Applications
Private Label Applications are intended to allow manufacturers the option to re-list qualified products under alternate organizations without having to submit duplicate testing information. If you are using original equipment manufacturer (OEM) test reports to submit an application for a product or family that has not been previously qualified on the QPL, please complete the Test Report Authorization Form and submit either a Single Product Application or a Family Grouping Application. If the OEM product is already DLC qualified, please submit a Private Label Application.
Note: As of October 2016, Private Label Applications must include proof of safety certification filed under their own organzation's name.
-
Product Update Applications
Update a previously-listed product or family grouping with dimming information or to meet the most recent version of the Technical Requirements.
