The DesignLights Consortium® (DLC) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to achieve energy optimization by enabling interconnected solutions with a focus on quality for people and the environment. The DLC promotes high-quality, energy-efficient lighting products in collaboration with utilities and energy efficiency program members, manufacturers, lighting designers, and federal, state, and local entities. Through these partnerships, the DLC establishes product quality specifications, facilitates thought leadership, and provides information, education, tools and technical expertise.

The DLC has ten years of experience promoting energy efficiency in the commercial lighting sector. We pride ourselves on our adaptability to the rapidly-changing industry, our commitment to transparency, and a core dedication to our mission of driving energy-efficiency through lighting. The largest verified list of high performing LED lighting products: the DLC Solid-State Lighting QPL.

The DLC is currently supported and funded over 70 Member energy efficiency programs throughout the U.S. and Canada. Members provide expertise and insight into policy and specification development processes and on topics related to quality, performance, energy efficiency, and lighting market transformation. In return, Members use DLC resources to improve their commercial efficiency programs, meet and exceed their energy savings goals, and provide product quality and performance assurance to their customers.
Industry Advisory Committee
The Industry Advisory Committee works at the strategic level to support the DLC, bridge the gap between industry and utility Member needs, and help fulfill the DLC mission. Advisory Committee members are nominated and selected every two years and help the DLC drive efficient lighting through education, collaboration, and expertise.
